Treez Studio website is uniquely designed to showcase the “Photo-Realism” artwork of Allan Wesley Johnson. AJ has been experimenting with numerous mediums to create his “Photo-Realism” quality, a state of art and sculpture characterized by the highly detailed depiction of ordinary life with the impersonality of a photograph. As the Senior Graphic Designer at Big Bear Software, I worked directly with AJ to bring his idea to life with the development of branding to solidify who Treez Studio is as a company and custom website designed to showcase his work. AJ came to us with an illustrated version of a logo idea and wanted a dark themed website. Taking the basic outline of his illustrations, I created a logo to balance nature and art that would work on both dark and light themed materials. Taking from the green and black colour scheme, I designed out a 5 page template for the website, focusing on the masonry gallery style of display to feature his artwork that educates the audience about Photo-Realism. The template backend was structured in a way for AJ to easily access and edit any content on the fly. AJ was also looking to implement a workshop booking feature to help teach others about his technique. We set up a booking and calendar feature in the backend which included workshop course information and event details. AJ could now easily update his workshop event information and allowed him the flexibility to turn the feature “on” or “off” depending if he was holding any courses at the time. The forms utilized throughout the website sent notifications directly to AJ’s email, and could differentiate between a contact form submission or a artwork inquiry. Now AJ was fully equipped with the online tools to update his content and educate his audience about his new Photo-Realism technique.
